It is odd (maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised!!!) that we can sing a song so many times, and enjoy it, feel like we are worshipping God, yet the words never really “hit home” and have the personal impact that was intended when they were first written. This Sunday (18/03/2012) evening we went to the Holy Trinity Church in Leicester as our son was speaking, and as we sang the Hillsong “hosanna” song the words of the last verse really hit me. They are as follows:
Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from here into Eternity
All of a sudden these words hit me and I felt that they needed to become my personal prayer or my personal vision. To be whole and clean, in Christ, before God; to be aware of the spiritual and the work of the Holy Spirit; to know what it is to love other people with the same love that God loves me; to see as God sees, the hurt, the pain, the suffering, the need that humanity has for Christ; and to be totally surrendered over to God, so that everything I have (including me) is his and is at his disposal.
This is my now prayer and my petition before God.
